Raw Editing Practice

This is Photoshop RAW editor. This allows much more variation in photoshop involving the actual photograph rather than other settings that Photoshop normally has.

Black and White Conversion

For this assignment we used Adobe Photoshop and Adjustment Layers to create black and white versions of a color image. Using the Chanel Mixer we were able to modify the tonal range of the individual colors in the image in order to get different versions.

This is the photograph from the first group of pictures I took, this turned out very well as the different edits with each different setting of color highlights almost makes it seem like a spot the differences with five different versions of the photographs.

Leading Lines

For this project we used leading lines as a composition technique for taking a series of photos. Leading lines compositions use linear elements to guide the viewer’s eye to the focal point of the composition. This was another group of photos I took (see close-up) when I went out to take pictures the second time.

Close-Up Photographs

A lot of these images were taken in a hurry, I was behind and I wasn’t aware that we were supposed to be taking close-up photos at the time when we first went out to take them. During that time I just took photos assuming it was practice for later assignments. In the end it still worked out because I had some decent images for a future assignment.
